We are so overwhelmed. We have deadlines, family, work, chores, errands, and somewhere in there you have to squeeze fun in. Where do we find space for health? That’s right. Most of us are not even thinking about dedicating time to our health. We may think about it a lot, even obsess that “I should be eating better.” Or “I could go to sleep and be more rested for tomorrow.” Yet how often do we do it? Usually not until we have to. We get sick, over exhausted, stressed out and now it has become mandatory. I want to encourage you to consider taking a daily time out. Allowing our body real rest is essential to our health. It gives us the time to drop out of the fight or flight even just for 5 mins. This rest time is to disengage from everything. The best part is the more often you “time out” the easier it gets. You also want to do it more finding that you now are more focused, calmer, and sleeping better and life starts to become more enjoyable again. I get that we cannot always do this on a daily basis and you are already making your list of excuses. So I challenge you to unplug for 10 mins minimum every day for 30 days and see the difference it makes to you. This means being present and no electronics. Outside is best. It can be a 10 min walk with no phone. Eat your lunch with zero distractions. Go sit by the river as it reminds you to go with the flow of life, instead of always fighting the current. When you take the time to quiet your mind and body, more answers and creativity will flow in and often solutions to major life challenges as well. When you quiet the mind, only then can you hear the answers to the questions you have been asking.
